Wednesday, May 18 – Departure from USA
Thursday, May 19 – Palermo Airport – Castellammare Del Golfo
Arrival Palermo Airport. Private Transfer to Castellammare Del Golfo to check into your B & B where your will be served a light lunch. In the late afternoon, you will enjoy a panoramic tour of the Village and will have a welcome pizza party at “Ristorante Bella Vista”. (L,D)
Friday, May 20 – Castellammare Del Golfo – Cefalu’- Castellammare Del Golfo
This morning we will have breakfast at Bar Millennium “the best cappuccino and espresso” a small bar where local Sicilians go every morning. Soon after we will head for Cefalu’ famous for its Norman Cathedral, a World Heritage Site. The Norman Cathedral is dramatically situated in front of the mountain (Rocca di Cefalu`) and is one of Sicily’s most important buildings from the Norman domination of the Island. It was Roger II who started the construction in 1131 but was still unfinished at the time of his death in 1154, it was not consecrated until 1267. After a guided tour of the town, participants will have some free time to explore the village, do some shopping before getting on the bus that will take us to the famous Castle of Caccamo. A brief sightseeing tour of the town. Dinner at the Sicilian Specialty Restaurant “A Castellana” (B,D)
Saturday, May 21 – Castellammare Del Golfo –Salemi- Menfi-Castellammare Del Golfo
An early wake up, a quick cup of coffee and on the bus by 8:00 am to Salemi to visit Azienda Cucchiara, (www.aziendacucchiara.it), hopefully on time to see the milking of the sheep. We will visit the factory and witness the various steps of the transformation of milk into ricotta and then to cheese. A tasting of hot ricotta, tuma and fresh pecorino cheese will be our lunch specialty for today. Our next stop will take us to Menfi for a Wine tour of Cantine Barbera. A delicious home style dinner especially prepared by Donna Rosa will be served along with matching wines. Return to Castellammare for overnight. (L,D)
Sunday, May 22 – Castellammare Del Golfo
Breakfast by the Harbor of Castellammare at the well know “Bar Vogue”. This morning it will be very interesting to see the local fisherman coming in with their catch of the day. Lunch will be a special celebration for fish, vegetable and pasta lovers!!! A simple peasant menu prepared by Paola. Everyone’s participation will be required!! Afternoon free to relax. Early evening participation to the Festivities in town in Honor of Saint Rita. (B,L)
Monday, May 23 – Castellammare Del Golfo- Palermo- Monreale- Carini – Castellammare Del Golfo
After breakfast at the residence, we will have an early departure for a guided tour of Palermo, the Capital of Sicily, featuring Quattro Canti, the Palace of the Normans with its superb Palatine Chapel, the Cathedral and many other import highlights of the city. One of the legacies of Palermo’s past as a commercial center that continues to manifest itself in the present day is the Palermo market culture. Culture. In particular, Palermo’s Muslim history has made an imprint on the bazaars and markets of the town. Bustling, crowded, and full of all kinds of treasures, a stop at the “Ballaro” market is a unique way to connect with the real lifestyle of the Palermo locals. We will have a chance to savor Sicilian Specialties in one of the Focaccerie inside the Ballaro Market. Soon after, our tour will take us to Monreale for a guided tour of the Cathedral. You will have some free time to sit in one of the many nearby bars for coffee, cappuccino or a glass of local wine. We will have dinner in Cariniat Ristorante la Baronia (www.ristorantelabaronia.com) before returning to Castellammare for overnight. (B,L,D)
Tuesday, May 24 – Castellammare Del Golfo- Segesta- Scopello – Natural Park of lo Zingaro – Castellammare Del Golfo
Breakfast at the Residence. Free time to Relax by the pool or enjoy the sandy beach. Early afternoon excursion to Segesta, followed by a visit to the famous Borgo of Scopello, and then we will stop of the entrance of the “Natural Park of lo Zingaro” before going to Castellammare Harbor for dinner at the family style restaurant “ilPatio” (B,D)
Wednesday, May 25 – Castellammare Del Golfo – Agrigento- Sciacca– Castellammare Del Golfo
Breakfast and an early departure for a full day guided tour of Agrigento. After the guided tour of the Valley of the Temples, lunch will be arranged at Trattoria dei Templi(www.trattoriadeitempli.com). On the way back to Castellammare (time permitting) we might stop in Sciacca for some free time to explore the city. (B,L)
Thursday, May 26 – Castellammare Del Golfo – San Vito lo Capo –Erice– Castellammare Del Golfo
Breakfast at the Residence. Morning departure for the Famous Beach of San Vito lo Capo. Weather permitting you can enjoy a good swim in the turquoise water or a stroll in the white sand beach. Free time to relax in one of the many seaside bars. After we will proceed for a guided afternoon tour of the medieval town of Erice. This sober historic town is surrounded by the defensive town walls, crowned by a castle, and dominates the surrounding area from its mountainous height of approximately 800 meters above sea level. Dinner will be served in a cozy restaurant “La Pentolaccia” (www.ristorantelapentolaccia.it). (B,D)
Friday, May 27 – Castellammare Del Golfo
Breakfast at the Residence. Free time for packing and some last minute shopping. Light snack will be served. Farewell Dinner Party at Agriturismo “la Sperone” (www.losperone.it). (B,L,D)

Private transfers to the airport for your flight back to the US
